Remote-Learner has announced new integration with Adobe® Connect™ to deliver synchronous web conferencing inside of Moodle, an open-source learning management system that helps educators produce Internet-based courses and web sites. This new plug-in provides a single sign-on between the two systems to facilitate eLearning through Moodle. Instructors can now create and manage their meeting rooms inside of Moodle, with students able to click and load them easily within the eLearning environment.
Remote-Learner has selected Red Hat's RHEL Advanced Platform Virtualization technology to deploy in its Overland Park Kansas data center. Remote-Learner and Kaltura recently announced a partnership to bring an open-source video streaming technology to the Moodle LMS platform. Kaltura was selected by Wikipedia (Fall '09), PBS and over 30,000 commercial organizations and schools to bring cost effective video resources online. On August 19, 2009 the North Carolina Community College System, fourth largest in the US, published the results of a two year study comparing Moodle to Blackboard at a select number of the 58 campuses throughout the state. The results (Executive Summary) should be of interest to all schools considering a learning management system.
