Moodle Courseware Development
We incorporate contextual content into a creative, interactive, and engaging course using the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), and its native module activity creation features including Lessons, discussion Forums, Questionnaires, Quizzes, Wikis, Assignments and many other Resources. If proof of completion is a requirement we can create a custom certificate for your learners, available upon successful completion of the course. In addition to native Moodle interactivity, we add custom or templated interactive objects to the course framework using open source tools whenever possible. Open source interactive templates allow us to eliminate software licensing costs from our production overhead, streamline the production process and pass the savings along to you.
SCORM/AICC Course Development
Using Adobe Captivate®, we can create a SCORM® (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) package with your lesson content making it portable across all platforms that support this universal standard. There are a wide variety of options when developing a SCORM course or individual learning object, including PowerPoint® presentations with voiceover, animations, video clips, and quiz questions. Captivate SCORM is especially useful for screencasts and software tutorials. Captivate SCORM objects can be placed within a Moodle course as a resource or as a stand-alone course format. SCORM scores and outcomes are recorded in the Moodle gradebook and Remote-Learner can assure compliance with both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004. SCORM, while an international standard, can still be problematic when trying to get content from a tool vendor to work properly within the LMS. Remote-Learner ID team members are recognized experts in the SCORM Moodle community and can help fix many problems with SCORM SCO's so they display and function correctly within Moodle.
Custom Interactive Content Development
Remote-Learner can create individual learning activities and complete courses using Adobe Flash® or DHTML. Custom content is often the best solution when a customer is required to use SCORM or SCORM-type functionality, but needs interactivity or data access not provided by the SCORM standard alone. Our in-house Flash and SCORM experts can build custom SCORM courses that are quality-tested to run in Moodle. We can also build one-of-a-kind e-learning interactions such as sitewide custom surveys and survey reporting, animated learning activities, and other interactions which SCORM by itself cannot handle. Lastly, we can insure that your SCORM content runs with Moodle as both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 compliant.
Writing Services and Course Catalog Planning
Do you have a PowerPoint presentation but no audio transcript or assessment? Are you concerned about the Web usability of your text? Do you need disparate content sources reworked for a unified style and tone? Our writing services can revise or supplement your material, with an eye for clarity and depth. We can even use your content to author original learning activities which increase learning through relevant interaction and timely assessment. If you need help in a much broader context such as planning a course catalog and working with a subject matter expert to script an entire syllabus, Remote-Learner can provide that service.
Existing Course Consultation and Migration Services
If you have already built your own course, you may be interested in a course review or assessment to help you understand how it would run within Moodle and best accomplish your learning objectives. An instructional designer will provide an expert review of your design and make suggestions and recommendations, keeping your specific goals and challenges in mind. You will receive a review document outlining any proposed alterations and the pedagogical reasoning behind those alterations. In addition, a Remote-Learner instructional design team member can offer a webinar presentation via Elluminate to clarify recommendations and demonstrate unique concepts in design. Finally, if you are moving off a commercial LMS our ID team members can help you migrate that content into Moodle. Remote-Learner has migration tools for many of the popular academic and corporate LMS's that can automate the process of converting a few or many courses at once.
