Mahara Partnership Announced

Remote-Learner has announced support for the open source Mahara e-Portfolio system by joining the worldwide network of authorized Mahara service providers. Mahara is a flexible display framework and means 'think' or 'thought' in Te Reo Māori. Mahara is a user centred environment with a permissions framework that enables different views of an e-portfolio to be easily managed. Mahara also features:

a weblog (blog feature)
resume builder
social networking system for creating learner communities.

We are pleased to offer our academic and corporate clients this exciting technology, fully integrated with Moodle. Mahara will allow students to create an e-portfolio during their academic years, and employee's to manage workplace competencies and new skills. Mahara has been gaining ground in acadamia and the business learing environment as the importance of maintaining competency artifacts increases. Mahara was originally funded by New Zealand's Tertiary Education Commission and is supported with a Mellon Foundation grant.
